Welcome to BluePearl in Kansas City, formerly called Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Center of Kansas City. Although our name changed in 2011, our commitment to providing outstanding specialty and emergency care for pets remains the same. We are the sister hospital to BluePearl’s Lee’s Summit, Missouri, location.
Why the name change? The name BluePearl was adopted in 2008 when we joined with Florida Veterinary Specialists and NYC Veterinary Specialists, creating a network of resources for you and your pet. As our services have expanded we wanted a name which encompassed everyone. We are located at:

Your family veterinarian knows your pet well and, if your pet’s condition requires an advanced level of care, you may be referred to us. We work closely with your veterinarian to ensure a personalized treatment plan is made based on your pet’s individual medical history.

Your veterinarian provides the best wellness care for your pet, which is why BluePearl does not offer primary care, routine health exams, spay/neuter or vaccinations. For these services, please schedule regular wellness visits with your family veterinarian.
